Travelling with children takes organisation, and the ride to the airport is often where things fall apart: stroller, suitcases, sleeping baby, teenager dragging behind. A family taxi to YUL airport booked in advance settles the three questions that always come up: the car seat, the room for luggage and the price.
Is a child seat mandatory in a Québec taxi?
In Québec, the Highway Safety Code exempts taxis from the car-seat requirement. Carrying a child without a seat is therefore not illegal, but it is not any safer. At Taxi Bonjour we prefer every child to travel as they would in the family car: infant seat, child seat or booster, provided at no extra charge when you request it at booking.
| Age or height | Equipment provided |
|---|---|
| Birth to about 1 year | Rear-facing infant seat |
| About 1 to 4 years | Forward-facing child seat |
| Up to 145 cm or 9 years | Booster seat |
Simply enter the age and number of children in the form. The driver installs the seat before reaching your door. You can of course bring your own: it attaches with the seat belt or the universal anchorage system.
Which vehicle for a family?
Two adults, two kids, two big suitcases, a stroller and a backpack each: the sedan is full. Here is what we recommend.
- Sedan: one or two children, carry-ons and one or two suitcases.
- SUV: folded stroller, large suitcases, ski or hockey gear.
- Minivan: up to three child seats, grandparents on board, a month-long trip.
All our vehicles are air-conditioned with USB chargers to keep the older ones busy on the way. See the fleet on our Services and rates page.

Price of a family taxi to YUL
The child seat is free. The fare follows the regulated grid, like for everyone else:
- Downtown ↔ airport: flat rate of $49.45 by day, $56.70 at night, airport fee included.
- Other addresses: metered, with an estimate given at booking.
- SUV or minivan: a small vehicle supplement applies, announced in advance.
A family of five in a minivan pays one single ride; it is almost always cheaper than two cars. Get an estimate with the fare calculator.
On arrival: where the driver waits
On the way back, give us your flight number. We track the landing, and the driver waits for you at Door 23 on the arrivals level, or right in the hall with a sign bearing your name if you ask. With tired kids and full carts, not having to look for the meeting point is a real relief.
Ten tips for a meltdown-free ride
- Book 48 hours ahead if you need child seats or a minivan.
- Allow 15 extra minutes to buckle everyone in and load the stroller.
- Keep a "cabin" bag with snacks, wipes and a change of clothes within reach.
- Put passports and boarding passes in a single holder, not in the suitcase in the trunk.
- For a morning flight, let the kids sleep in their travel clothes.
- Tell the driver if a child gets carsick: he will adapt his driving.
- For babies, save the bottle for take-off; the taxi is not the moment.
- Think about transporting your pet if the dog is part of the trip.
- In winter, leave coats open in the car seat so the harness fits snugly.
- Save our number in your phone: +1 (514) 222-6666, 24 hours a day.
In short
- Infant seats, child seats and boosters provided free, on request at booking.
- Sedan, SUV or minivan depending on passengers and luggage.
- Regulated price, flat rate from downtown, estimate given in advance.
- Flight tracking and pickup at Door 23 or with a name sign.
