The price does not change: in Québec every taxi applies the Commission des transports du Québec rate grid. Booking does not cost more; it simply tells you in advance how much you will pay.
When booking is a must
Very early or late flights
Between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. there are fewer cars on the road. For a 5:30 a.m. departure from Laval or the South Shore, you do not want to call a taxi at 3:45 and hope one shows up. With a booking the driver is at your door at the agreed time, and the night rate is confirmed beforehand.
Families and child seats

Groups and bulky luggage
