Your flight lands at 11:30 p.m., midnight, or even 2 a.m. after a delay. Will you find a taxi at the airport? Yes. But there is a difference between "finding a taxi" and "having a driver waiting for you". Here is everything you need to know about night taxis at YUL airport: availability, night rate, safety and how to book so you never wait.
Are there taxis at YUL at night?
Montréal-Trudeau airport operates 24 hours a day, and so does the taxi stand at Door 23. In the evening, until about midnight, flights arrive in waves and the taxi line keeps refilling. After 1 a.m., air traffic drops and so does the number of waiting cars. Between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. the wait can get longer, especially when several delayed flights land at once.
At Taxi Bonjour we drive all night. A booking guarantees a driver is there at your arrival time, whatever the delay: we track your flight and adjust the pickup.
The night rate: what changes
The Commission des transports du Québec sets a night rate, applicable from 11 p.m. to 4:59 a.m. It is slightly higher than the day rate, and it is the same for every taxi in the province.
| Day rate (5 a.m. to 10:59 p.m.) | Night rate (11 p.m. to 4:59 a.m.) | |
|---|---|---|
| Base fare | $4.10 | $4.70 |
| Per kilometre | $2.05 | $2.35 |
| Per minute (slow traffic) | $0.77 | $0.89 |
| Flat rate downtown ↔ YUL | $49.45 | $56.70 |
| Minimum from YUL | $21.65 | $24.75 |
Good news: at night there is no traffic. A Laval–YUL ride that takes 45 minutes at 5 p.m. takes 25 at midnight. The per-kilometre rate is higher, but the slow-traffic time almost disappears. In the end, a night ride often costs about the same as one at rush hour. Our calculator automatically applies the right rate for the time you choose.
Why book your night taxi
Zero wait at the exit
At 1 a.m., after an eight-hour flight, the last thing you want is a line outside in January. With a booking, the driver is at Door 23 or in the hall with a sign bearing your name.
A price known in advance
The estimate is given at booking, night rate included. No mental math at the exit.
The right vehicle
Four suitcases and two sleeping kids? A minivan is waiting, with child seats installed.
For very early departures
A 6:30 a.m. flight means being at the airport around 4:30. A taxi booked the day before picks you up at 3:45 in Brossard or Terrebonne, without you having to call in the middle of the night.

Safety and comfort at night
- Our drivers hold the Québec taxi driver's licence, with background checks.
- Every ride is recorded: booking number, route, driver. You can share your confirmation with someone close.
- Recent, hybrid, well-maintained vehicles with winter tires in season.
- Card payment on board, receipt by email: no need for cash at 2 a.m.
- For solo travellers, the driver waits until you are inside before leaving, if you ask.
Frequent night flights at YUL
Many flights from Europe land between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.; those from Western Canada and the US West Coast often arrive after midnight. Departures to Europe cluster between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., and several flights to the South leave before 7 a.m. In all these cases, the taxi booking is the link that removes the wait, on arrival as on departure.
